Mapathy (n.) [map-uh-thee] (often expressed as, "How the hell did you know I was there?!") is a state of indifference to the same old maps one has been playing for the last several months. It's also the made-up word Infinity Ward is using to announce the first map pack for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, coming to Xbox Live on March 30.

The developer shook off its much-publicized recent woes to launch the Mapathy web site, which it says will provide details about the upcoming maps. But beyond the clever marketing, Infinity Ward did not provide any details on what we can expect. But that's what the rumor mill is for, isn't it?

As we reported last week, TheTechGame claims to have unearthed the details on the upcoming map pack, and it provided the rather convincing screen shots to prove it. The site says the map pack will be dubbed The Stimulus Package and will include two new maps as well as two favorites from the original Modern Warfare, Crash and Overgrown.

Nothing has been confirmed, but Infinity Ward recommends those suffering from mapathy check back at the viral site soon for details.

Sharkey says: If the rumors are true and we will be getting two old maps in the Stimulus Package, Infinity Ward is contradicting itself just a bit. Not that I mind. I'd like to see a few more maps from Modern Warfare added to the Modern Warfare 2 lineup. The question is, will we have to pay for them?
